How to download a mod
Three steps. The whole process takes under a minute the first time, and one click after that.

Click the download link in the Patreon post
Each mod post has a Download button that brings you straight to this site. You don’t need to find anything manually.

Login with Patreon (first time only)
The first time you click a download, you’ll sign in with your Patreon account. Any Patreon account works. You don’t need to be a Chatelain member or pay anything. After that, your session stays active and downloads are one-click.

Save the file and drop it in your Mods folder
The download is a single
.package file. Move it to your Sims 4 Mods folder:Windows

If you’re updating a mod you already have installed, delete the old .package file first, then drop the new one in. Don’t keep both. The game loads only one and you may end up with the older version active.
File names follow the format [mod-slug]-chatelain.package so they’re easy to find in your Mods folder.
Troubleshooting
▸Do I need to pay to download?
No. Map replacements are free and only require a Patreon login. You don’t need to be a Chatelain member or pay any tier. The login is just so I can keep track of downloads and protect against abuse. If you don’t have a Patreon account yet, you can create one for free in about 30 seconds.
▸Why does the site need a Patreon login at all?
Two reasons: it gives me visibility into who actually uses the mods (helps me decide what to make next), and it prevents bots from scraping the file links. Sign-in is one click via Patreon OAuth, with no password to remember on my side.
▸The download button says "Early Access"
Some mods are released first to higher-tier patrons during an early access window. You’ll see the date the mod becomes free for everyone in the lock notice. If you want immediate access, you can upgrade your tier on Patreon.
▸The mod doesn't show up in the game
Open Game Options → Other in The Sims 4 and make sure both Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed are ON. Then restart the game completely (close and reopen, not just back to main menu). Also check the
.package file is directly in the Mods folder, not inside a subfolder more than 1 level deep, since the game only scans up to 5 levels.▸Game crashes or behaves strangely after installing
The most common cause is conflict with another map mod. The Sims 4 only allows one map replacement per world at a time. Remove other map replacements for the same world and try again. If the issue persists, please submit a bug report with a description and your
lastException log if available.▸I downloaded the file but Windows says it's not safe
Some browsers flag
.package files as unknown because they’re not a standard file type. The file comes directly from Supabase storage with a signed URL, and it’s the same file other patrons download. Click Keep or Allow in your browser’s download warning.▸Can I share the download link with friends?
The download link is tied to your Patreon login, so sharing won’t work for them. They’ll be redirected to login. If you want to recommend a mod, share the public mod page (e.g.
chatelain-sims.cc/maps/sulani) instead.Still stuck?
